Let's take a quick look at some ways that any family can save money -- By being a smart consumer when it comes to buying groceries.
1. Dinner?
You don't have to make a large serving of meat and vegetables every night for dinner. You can save big time if you will make omelets or serve simple meals, like BBQ chicken wings and a salad.
2. Check out your pantry BEFORE you shop.
Have you ever gone to the grocery store and when you come home and begin to put those groceries away, you discover you already had some of those items?
Raid your pantry before you go shopping. Challenge yourself and look through your pantry and see what kind of meals you can throw together with what you have.
3. Check your numbers WHILE you shop.
Use your calculator while you're shopping so you're not surprised at the check out. If you know the cost of whats already in your basket, you might rethink some choices. Do you really need that sparkling water for $5?
I'll have some more tips coming next week .......
